Chabad of Downtown Coral Gables will host a community Hanukkah celebration starting at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Ponce Circle Park in downtown Coral Gables.

Public officials, including Mayor Don Slesnick and others, are scheduled to attend the event and assist in kindling the giant ``Menorah of Freedom.''

Following the kindling, the program will feature Hanukkah gifts and treats, live music, traditional jelly doughnuts and more.

The 17-foot Freedom Menorah came to the park thanks to the help of local attorney Spencer Aronfeld of Aronfeld & Associates.
