Aronfeld Trial Lawyers Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Royal Caribbean Alleging “Over-Service” of Alcohol Resulted in Passenger’s Overboard Death

The 66-year-old woman was a Passenger Onboard Royal Caribbean’s, Allure of the Seas Taylor Swift-Themed Cruise

MIAMI – (October 28, 2025) Aronfeld Trial Lawyers has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court Southern District of Florida Miami Division (CASE NO. 1:25-cv-24972), on behalf of Plaintiffs, Terry White (the widower and Personal Representative of THE ESTATE OF DULCIE WHITE), and the decedent’s daughter, alleging the over-service of alcohol by the cruise line led to his wife’s fall overboard and her subsequent death.

“Royal Caribbean didn’t just sell drinks—it sold danger, said Plaintiffs’ attorney Spencer Aronfeld. This isn’t an accident; it’s an industry pattern. We’re putting the cruise lines on notice: the days of profiting from over-service while passengers die at sea are over.”

Defendant, Royal Caribbean (RCCL) on or about October 22, 2024, between approximately 1:00 p.m. and 7:08 p.m., allowed crewmembers, who were servers at “Sorrento’s Pizzeria,” the “Sand Bar,” and “Studio B,” serve the decedent at least seven alcoholic beverages continually within a span of approximately six hours and eight minutes.

She was swaying, stammering, slurring her speech, had alcohol on her breath, couldn’t keep her composure straight, had glassy eyes, while she was in plain view of the crewmembers serving her these alcoholic beverages, and was visibly intoxicated such that each of Royal Caribbean’s crewmembers should not have continued to serve alcohol to her while she was exhibiting these visible signs of intoxication. Each of these crew members were negligent for continuing to serve her alcoholic beverages in her intoxicated state. She returned to her cabin at approximately 7:30 p.m., went overboard the ship from her balcony within direct view of her daughter later that night due to her intoxication, and died.

Her daughter immediately notified RCCL Allure of the Seas personnel that her mother had fallen overboard. The RCCL Allure of the Seas made no Williamson or Anderson turn or returned the vessel to the “man overboard” (MOB) location or gave the command to launch a rescue boat.

Even though RCCL Allure of the Seas personnel were informed by the decedent’s daughter that her mother fell overboard, even though numerous RCCL Allure of the Seas bartenders and servers recognized her and had grossly over-served her alcohol in the hours preceding her fall overboard; RCCL failed to exercise reasonable care and due regard for the circumstance, and failed to adequately search the waters of the area of the ship’s last known position where she last had been seen.

The Plaintiffs in this case demand judgment against Royal Caribbean, for compensatory damages, including pre-judgment interest, costs, and all damages allowable by maritime and state law for the above emotional injuries and/or damages, and further demands trial by jury of all issues so triable as a matter of right, as well as any further relief as this Court deems just and appropriate.
