Zoloft
Studies have linked Zoloft to birth defects and other complications if taken by women when pregnant. Women who Zoloft or other antidepressants known as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) at any point during pregnancy are at an increased risk of giving birth to a child with serious congenital heart deformities or other complications at birth.
Zoloft and the generic drug sertraline, is listed as a Pregnancy Category C medication by the FDA and is approved for the treatment of clinical depression and certain anxiety disorders.
