Laser Tag was invented in 1984 by George Carter III, an amusement inventor also credited with bumper cars and a mobile game. George Carter III claimed he was inspired by Star Wars when he assembled the first Laser Tag arena in Dallas, Texas. If you have ever seen a Laser Tag game take place, you can clearly see why Star Wars is credited as an inspiration; dark neon hallways overcome with unusual architecture, obstacles and fast-paced agents armed with laser guns running amuck. The goal of Laser tag is to point and fire your laser gun at an opponent from another team, and deactivate their gun; the team with the most ‘kills’ wins.
