Hip Implant Recalls: Legal Action for Stryker and DePuy Hip Implants

Our South Florida law firm has sued Stryker on behalf of an Aventura woman who was implanted with a Stryker Rejuvenate hip. Her case is pending in Hackensack, New Jersey in front of the Honorable Judge Brian Martinotti. Judge Martinotti is currently presiding over all of the New Jersey state court Stryker recalled hip cases for both the Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II. He holds monthly case management conferences to assist the parties in moving the cases quickly and efficiently through the justice system. He is streamlining the process and has ordered that the lawyers meet and confer to establish a mediation process.

DePuy Orthopedics is a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson and manufactured the ASR™ XL Acetabular total hip replacement system. Many patients who have this hip implant suffer from severe pain, stiffness, metal poisoning and swelling limiting their ability to stand and walk. In August 2010 De Puy announced a global recall after receiving an extraordinary number of reports from patients who were experiencing problems related to their hip implants. Our law firm has been at the forefront of this litigation and for patients who have also received the De Puy Pinnacle Acetabular Cup System.
