Another gastrointestinal outbreak was reported this week on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas affecting more than 70 passengers and crew. According to theCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the outbreak was caused by the norovirus. Symptoms include diarrhea and vomiting.
The 13-night cruise departed from San Diego on Sept. 19 and is scheduled to arrive at its final stop in Miami on Thursday, Oct. 2, per Cruise Mapper.
This marks the 19 th outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses on cruises, 14 of which were caused by the norovirus, surpassing 2024’s total.
