Man Installs Hidden Camera In Cruise Ship Bathroom

Jeremy Froias, a former Public Cyber Security Officer for the City of Kissimmee, Florida, was caught recently and arrested for recording women and minors in a public restroom. Froias installed a hidden camera onboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas near the flo-rider in a public women’s restroom. Apparently the camera was installed between April 30th and May 1, and the FBI is using this timeframe to corral a list of possible victims.

Upon reviewing the SD Card left in the camera, the FBI has claimed Froias recorded over 150 unsuspecting people, including 40 minors; some under the age of 6.

Immediate Aftermath

Froias was arrested following the incident, and was released on a $25,000.00 bond May 10, 2023. He has been placed under house arrest, has had his travel restricted, passport returned, and internet access limited according to the New York Post. Situations like these take place around the world on a regular basis, and are dealt with as serious crimes with charges that include possession and filming of child pornography, pedophilia, and video voyeurism. Many passengers went online following the publication of the incident, and complained that Royal Caribbean did not notify them of the incident until after the cruise.

What Can Victims Do?

Aronfeld Trial Lawyers has represented individuals who have been illegally video-taped and spied on for decades. Although these types of cases on board cruise ships are not as common, we have been successfully representing passengers who have been sexually abused, harassed, stalked and raped on board major cruise lines and have brought them the compensation and justice they deserve. Major Cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Norwegian make it difficult for passengers to pursue compensation for emotional damages as opposed to a broken bone or fractured skull. This limitation, which demonstrates the apathy of these massive corporations, is why cases like the Froias hidden camera installations require an experienced, seasoned, and dedicated team of lawyers to properly litigate.
