Our Miami law firm extends our deepest sympathy to the families of those who died at today at the Sandy Hook Elementary school. One of the weapons used was a Glock semi-automatic pistol. Apparently the Glock is the same weapon that was used at Virgina Tech, on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and at the theater in Aurora, Colorado. In all four tragedies, the killers were young men who purchased their Glocks legally.

We sue manufacturers of dangerous products, drugs, and medical devices that hurt and kill people. Watching President Obama’s emotional report of the Sandy Hook tragedy today has me hoping that he will seek to create tougher gun laws. This deadly string of shootings must stop. Perhaps outlawing Glocks and other semi-automatic weapons is the first step. I outlined this theory in a recent blog post I wrote for the Huffington Post “The Glock That Stole Christmas.”
Just like tobacco, this product has no purpose other than to injure or kill. Suing Glock to prevent them from selling their guns to private citizens, is something that we should consider as an additional step in gun control. If these weapons were illegal to sell or possess, it would hopefully eliminate future tragedies.
